On Monday tryouts started for
spring sports at my school. I am a freshman in high school and I’m trying out
for softball which I have been playing since I was in 1st grade. Even
though I have been playing for so long, I still got so nervous for the tryouts.
I started to over think things and stress myself out but, I calmed myself down
and tried my best to impress the coaches. Here are some tips that I used to
make my tryout better:
·
If I messed up on one play I would not stress
about it because I knew that if I worried about that one play then chances are I
would mess up next time too. I just went back to the end of the line, took some
deep breaths, and prepared myself for the next time.
·
Whenever the coach asked the players to meet up
in the center of the gym I would jog there instead of walking because I wanted
to show the coach that I was putting in good effort.
·
When the coach or captains asked the players to
clean up the equipment I would be the first one over there picking up because I
wanted to show that I could be a team player and that I would help out.
